Blanco Madero

Wimberley, TX

Downsizing from a larger home, the owners of Blanco Madero sought a more intimate lifestyle on their land along the Blanco River. With a deep connection to the land, they spend their days tending to native vegetation and preserving the natural beauty of their property.

In response, we designed an efficient 1,550-square-foot home that maximizes space while maintaining a close connection to the outdoors through expansive covered porches. The timber frame structural system allows for an open and airy interior, enhancing the sense of space and volume.

Crafted with durable, natural materials inside and out, the home is built to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. Sustainability features, including a solar array with battery backup, a 30,000-gallon rainwater collection system, a wood-burning stove, and natural ventilation design, not only lower operating costs but also increase comfort and provide resilience in emergencies.
